Prophesy to the Bones: A Message for 2025

As we step into 2025, the year of the unexpected, it’s clear that God is preparing us for something extraordinary. New seasons, new mindsets, and new life are on the horizon. The journey begins in Ezekiel 37, where the prophet is taken to the valley of dry bones. It’s a story of renewal, hope, and the power of God’s Word and Spirit to bring life to even the driest, most desolate places.

The Valley of Dry Bones

In Ezekiel’s vision, the dry bones represent Israel’s spiritual condition—physically alive but spiritually dead. These bones were not just lifeless; they were exceedingly dry, emphasizing the depth of their separation from God. Yet, God’s question to Ezekiel, “Can these bones live?” carries profound implications. Ezekiel’s response, “Lord, You know,” sets the stage for one of the most powerful demonstrations of God’s ability to restore and revive.

Spiritual Dryness and God’s Power

Dryness is a spiritual condition that many can relate to. Without God’s Word and Spirit, we can become brittle, stagnant, and disconnected. Yet, just as Elisha’s bones carried the power to resurrect a man years after his death, there is no expiration date on God’s call. Even in seasons of dryness, God’s Spirit can breathe life and purpose into us again.

Speaking Life into the Dry Bones

Ezekiel’s role in the vision was to prophesy to the bones. The first step to revival is speaking God’s Word over dead situations. As long as we focus on declaring our problems, nothing will change. Transformation begins when we start prophesying God’s promises. This is the shift we need—from speaking about our circumstances to speaking into them.

New Year’s Eve brought a timely reminder from one of our church members: “We need to stop talking about what God is going to do and start talking about what He is doing.” The promises of God are already at work. When we declare them, His Word brings forth life and fruitfulness.

The Power of God’s Word, Spirit, and Promises

As Ezekiel prophesied, there was a sound. The bones began to come together, and new flesh and skin covered them. This wasn’t just physical restoration; it symbolized a renewed calling and purpose. But it didn’t stop there. God instructed Ezekiel to prophesy again, this time for the breath—the Spirit—to enter the bodies. It was the Spirit that brought them to life as a vast army, ready to fulfill their purpose.

The Call to Action

This vision teaches us that renewal involves God’s Word, Spirit, and promises, but it also requires our action. Faith without works is dead. Just as the dry bones became an army, God is calling His people to rise up as doers and fighters. The work of the kingdom requires people who are willing to move the vision forward.

A Universal Reach

God’s Spirit is not limited. In Ezekiel’s vision, the breath came from the four winds, symbolizing a universal reach. This same Spirit is ready to breathe life into individuals, churches, and communities. God is calling resources and people from every direction to bring new life and new beginnings.

New Life for 2025

This year, let’s embrace the unexpected. Let’s prophesy God’s promises over our lives, our callings, and our communities. Whether you’re reigniting an old calling or stepping into something brand new, know that God’s Word, Spirit, and promises will bring His purpose to completion.

As we prophesy good things, the power of the Holy Spirit will hypercharge our efforts, bringing about transformation that only He can achieve. It’s time to declare life over dry bones and step into the fullness of what God has planned for us in this new year.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Speak God’s Word and promises into your life.

  2. Recognize the power of the Holy Spirit to renew and revive.

  3. Take action—faith requires work to bring God’s vision to life.

  4. Trust that God is calling people and resources from all directions to fulfill His plans.

Let’s move forward with faith and expectation, ready to see God do the unexpected in 2025!

You're Welcome Here

Augusta Church wants to help you become the person God made you to be. No matter where you are in your journey, you’re invited to discover your purpose and live it out at Augusta Church. It’s our prayer that you feel loved and welcome just as you are the moment you walk in our doors.

Kids Ministry

Augusta Kids is all about raising up the next generation to become sons and daughters of God. We are passionate about helping children identify their strengths and their call at the youngest age possible. We desire to guide them in their relationship with God and to prepare them for the power and presence of God and His glory. We aim to teach children about who God made them to be and to embrace a biblical perspective of their life and purpose. We work to help our kids become the next supernatural generation who engage in a church where they can help bring people into freedom by healing the sick, casting out demons, feeding the hungry, and taking care of the impoverished. We look forward to helping parents raise up a generation of spiritual warriors. We don't believe children have to wait for their calling to be enacted - we don't babysit we are called to equip.

Need Prayer?

There are times when life is overwhelming, when all we have is questions. In those moments, hope can feel far away. The great thing about prayer is that it shifts our perspective towards the One who stands ready to listen. No matter what you're facing, we'd love to pray with you!
